I’m looking at internships and they say the job requires excellent research and organization skills. Then it says the requirements are a “bubbly personality”. Shouldn’t the qualifications include things like education, time management, research skills, etc?
When the ad says that candidates should have a bubbly personality, it seems like the employer doesn’t really have an understanding of what a candidate really SHOULD have to be successful at the job. A bubbly personality could mean an airhead that will lose lots of company money. They could on the other hand find a sophisticated person that has great skills that will earn the company money. A bubbly personality doesn’t always mean good people skills. A laid back person may be better at talking to and convincing people.
I could see it as possibly being a preferred trait, but I’m not understanding it being listed as the first requirement. Why do jobs list things like bubbly personality for a market research internship?
Maybe it’s just the type of people that post ads, if you look at Craig’s list some of the stuff is just rediculous. I saw an ad that says to apply for an administrative position at a PR Firm you should send your resume and a picture.
