My girlfriend is a Doctor in Sweden. She is looking to move to New York City this fall. She does not want to have to go through taking all the tests and board exams to get certified to practice in USA. What options does she have to stay in the medical field, make some money and gain valuable experience so when her time is up in NYC in about two – four years she can go back to Sweden and get a good Job as a doctor in Sweden?

She could get 10-20 for practicing medicine without the license…..if she’s going to be here that long, why not take the darn test’s? Is she qualified? then, no problem….just a little time involved….best to be safe, not sorry…..good luck…..

If she doesn’t want to go through the process to be licensed in NY, then she cannot practice medicine. So pretty much anything to do with medicine that requires a license (i.e. doctor, chiropractor, nurse, pharmacist, etc.) is out. You need to consider jobs that do not require a license. That doesn’t leave much in the field of medicine. Even massage therapists have to be licensed.
