I was wondering if anyone knew if speaking fluent french would give me an advantage in New York city for a job? If so, what kind of job would it be, like governement job or something?

    It would give you an advantage.
    Maybe a job working with tourists like in a hotel or a restaurant.
    You can be a translator or be self employed by giving french lessons.

    You might also check with the court system. You might need a certificate stating that you are a certified translator.

    try the UN!!! I have heard it is a great place to work as a translator…great benefits and salary. Plus I have heard that you don’t pay taxes b/c it is considered to be international territory or something?
