How do you gain experience if jobs require experience to get hired?

I’ve been turned down from alot of jobs because I don’t have experience (such as working in sales), even though i know I can do the job with ease. How am I supposed to get a job in selling things if nobody will hire me because I need experience? Most of my friends I know have said they lied to obtain jobs. Do I need to lie? Is that what this world is coming to? If not, how can I prove im worthy?
